Wedding Website FAQs and 24 Answers You Can Adapt
Published September 7, 2026
A useful wedding website FAQ makes it easier for guests to respond, prepare and arrive without guessing. Answer the questions that affect their plans first: who is invited, when to reply, where to go and what arrangements are available.
The examples below are suggested wording, not statements about your wedding. Replace the bracketed details, remove anything that does not apply, and confirm arrangements before promising them. You do not need all 24 answers on your website.
Invitations and replies
1. When should I RSVP?
Please reply by [date] using the RSVP section. We need to confirm our arrangements after that date, and we'd love to know whether you can join us.
Choose the date around your actual vendor deadlines rather than copying someone else's. Our wedding RSVP questions guide can help you decide what to collect alongside the response.
2. How do I RSVP?
Open the invitation link we sent you and respond for each named guest in your household. If you cannot find the link, contact [name] at [contact method] and we'll help.
Describe the process you actually use. A guest should not be told to search for their name if your RSVP requires a private code.
3. Can I bring a plus-one?
Your invitation lists the guests we have included. Where a plus-one is available, it will be shown on your invitation. Please contact us if anything is unclear.
This wording makes the invitation the reference point without assuming that every household has the same arrangement.
4. Are children invited?
Our [ceremony/reception/celebration] will be adults-only. We know this may affect your plans and completely understand if you are unable to attend.
For a different policy, name it accurately. "Children named on the invitation are welcome" works when some children are invited. See our adults-only wedding wording for more options.
5. Should everyone in our household reply separately?
Please provide a response for each invited person, including anyone who cannot attend. This helps us confirm individual meals and places.
Add whether one household member can submit all responses in your system.
6. What should I do if my plans change?
Please contact [name] at [contact method] as soon as possible. We'll check what can still be changed and confirm the next steps with you.
Do not promise unlimited changes after your caterer's or venue's final deadline.
Arrival and schedule
7. What time should I arrive?
Please arrive at [arrival time] so you have time to find the entrance and take your seat. The ceremony is scheduled to begin at [ceremony time].
8. Where is the entrance?
Please use [entrance name or clear description] at [full address]. Follow [specific signage] when you arrive. The main vehicle entrance is different from [other entrance], so please check these instructions before setting off.
Only include the final sentence if there really is a common point of confusion.
9. Are the ceremony and reception at the same place?
The ceremony is at [venue and address]. The reception follows at [venue and address]. [Explain the transport arrangement, or state that guests should arrange their own travel between venues.]
10. What time does the celebration finish?
The reception is expected to finish at [time]. [Booked transport information, if applicable.] Please plan your return journey in advance.
11. Will the celebration be indoors or outdoors?
The [ceremony/reception] is planned for [setting]. Please consider [relevant surface, temperature or shelter detail]. We will share any confirmed weather-related changes through [communication method].
12. Are there other wedding-weekend events?
Please refer to your invitation for the events included in your plans. We'll share the relevant timings and locations directly with invited guests.
Avoid naming a private dinner in a public FAQ simply to explain that most guests are not invited. Read our multiple-events website guide when organising different guest groups.
Clothing, food and comfort
13. What is the dress code?
Our dress code is [dress code]. We suggest [plain-language examples]. Please choose an outfit that feels comfortable and right for you within that style.
Describe the level of formality rather than assigning clothing by gender.
14. Are there any footwear considerations?
Guests will cross [grass/gravel/cobbles/steps]. Please choose footwear that suits those surfaces. Contact [name] if you would like to discuss an alternative route.
15. How should I share dietary requirements?
Please include your dietary requirements with your RSVP by [date]. We will discuss requests with our caterer and contact you if anything needs clarification. Please speak to [contact] about concerns rather than assuming a particular dish can be provided.
16. How do I ask about accessibility?
Please contact [name] privately at [contact method] to discuss what would help you attend comfortably. We can share confirmed information about entrances, routes, seating and facilities.
Do not label the entire venue "fully accessible" unless you have specific, verified information supporting that description.
17. Will there be somewhere quiet to take a break?
[Describe the confirmed quiet space and how to reach it.] If you would like more information before deciding whether to attend, please contact [name].
Remove this answer if no space has been arranged.
18. What food and drinks will be provided?
We will be serving [confirmed meal or reception format]. [Explain the confirmed drinks arrangement, including any guest-paid items.] Please let us know about dietary requirements through the RSVP process.
Travel and accommodation
19. Where should we stay?
Our accommodation page includes [confirmed hotel details or suggested areas]. Please check availability, pricing and booking conditions directly with the accommodation provider before making a reservation.
20. Is there a hotel block?
We have arranged a room block at [hotel] for [dates]. Book through [booking method] by [deadline], subject to availability. Guests make and pay for their own reservations. Please review the hotel's cancellation terms.
Use this only when it matches your agreement. Our hotel-block wording examples cover arrangements without a reserved block too.
21. Will there be a shuttle?
A shuttle is booked from [pickup point] at [departure time]. Please be ready by [boarding time]. Return departures are [times]. [Explain whether guests need to reserve a seat and how.]
22. Is parking available?
[Describe the confirmed parking location, charges and any restrictions.] Please do not assume vehicles can remain overnight; check [contact or policy] before leaving a car.
Photos, gifts and questions
23. Can we take photographs?
We would love an unplugged ceremony, so please put phones and cameras away while it takes place. [Describe your preference for the reception and any photo-sharing arrangements.]
Change the wording if that is not your preference. Ask permission before sharing photographs of other guests publicly.
24. Who should we contact with a question?
Before the wedding, please contact [name] at [contact method]. On the day, our point of contact will be [name and approved contact method]. Thank you for helping us stay present during the celebration.
Ask permission before publishing someone else's contact details.
Make the FAQ easy to use
Group answers by topic and put the most consequential ones first. Keep hotel details on the accommodation page and link to them rather than maintaining different deadlines in two places. Review the FAQ when invitations go out and again when the plans are final.
